Stephen Jones Asked If Cowboys Are Interested In Deebo Samuel Trade

Deebo Samuel, an All-Pro wide receiver, liked a photohopped image of himself wearing a Dallas Cowboys shirt shortly after his trade request was made public. It was a common occurrence that led to a lot of speculation about Samuel’s future with the San Francisco 49ers.

Stephen Jones, Cowboys vice-president, was asked indirectly about Samuel’s interest during a 105.3 The Fan appearance.

“You must keep an eye on everything and anything going on,” Jones responded. We’re constantly looking at where we stand from a personnel perspective and how we can improve.

This is not a surprising answer. Every NFL front office looks for ways to improve their roster.

Samuel would take the Cowboys’ offense up a notch. Samuel would give Kellen Moore’s team a unique weapon they don’t have.

Cowboys fans are disappointed that Samuel’s favorite team was not mentioned as a possible landing spot. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler suggested that the New York Jets (Detroit Lions), Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions could be potential suitors for the South Carolina product earlier this Friday.

Fowler stated that there are “a few teams that could be interested here – Jets. Lions. Packers.” Fowler spoke on Get up. These are some of the early names that could be in the mix. We will see how far they go, as this guy is one you must give up a base of a first-round selection to acquire and pay $20+ million each year.

Between now and the NFL Draft, Samuel’s market for trades could heat up. If the 49ers are willing and able to trade him.
