Jerry Jones makes grand gesture for CeeDee Lamb

Jerry Jones is already trying to turn CeeDee Lamb into a legend.

Before Lamb has even played a down of football for the Dallas Cowboys, the owner wants to give his new receiver No. 88 according to Jon Machota of The Athletic.

“Jerry Jones said he would like CeeDee Lamb to wear No. 88, following in the Cowboys WR footsteps of Dez Bryant, Michael Irvin and Drew Pearson.”

Thursday was a victory for the Cowboys as the team never dreamed of Lamb falling to them. Instead, the Raiders drafted Henry Ruggs II, while the Broncos took Jerry Jeudy, which allowed the Cowboys to take Lamb at No. 17 overall.

Lamb, the 6-foot-2, 192-pound wideout from Oklahoma, rounds out the receiving corps with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. The combination of the three ranks right up there as the best trio in the league.

Coming into the draft, Lamb was pegged as one of the best receivers in this class. Last season, Lamb caught 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns.

The big question is will the Cowboys draft his former quarterback, Jalen Hurts, in the middle rounds?

The next big question to ponder is will the Cowboys not bring back Bryant at all?

Bryant has been essentially trying to make a return to the league and has been linked to the Cowboys multiple times. He has been caught training with quarterback Dak Prescott. Bryant made it clear that he would love to be a part of that offense in Dallas.

“Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?” Bryant said during an interview with Fanatics View. “I just feel like what I can do right now… it’d be perfect for what they got going on.”\

If Bryant came, would he be okay with that?
