Ezekiel Elliott Makes Bold Claim About This Year’s Cowboys Team

When we look at the depth chart, the eye test checks out.

The Dallas Cowboys have an abundance of talent. Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper are a three-headed monster on offense alone. Throw in the names on defense too, such as Jaylon Smith, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Leighton Vander Esch.

Inside the locker room, the two-time NFL rushing champ, Zeke, likes what he sees.

“This is probably the most talented team I’ve been on,” said Elliott, via David Helman of dallascowboys.com.

Those are some strong words because the 2014 Ohio State national championship team featured some stars such as Zeke, Michael Thomas, Joey Bosa, and Marshon Lattimore.

“Just look at the depth chart, look at the roster, look at how many Pro Bowlers, how many All-Pro guys we have out there,” Elliott continued.

As of now, there are 14 players on the Cowboys roster that have made at least one Pro Bowl. When you boil it down to All-Pros, there are eight players.

When it comes to the roster, the paper is nice, but it’s all about winning. Last year, the Cowboys were below expectations and finished 8-8. Their offense and defense were ranked in the 20s. That led to a coaching overhaul and some free agent maneuvering.

A year ago, Elliott was holding out. Now he is all optimistic.

“I think we’re looking great. I think we’re in a good spot,” said Elliott, via Helman. “Defensively, we’re so deep on the defensive line, then we have the great linebacker trio and with the good DBs and the offense, we’ve got the veteran O-Line. Those guys, they’re good every year and there’s so many weapons on the outside with Dak leading us. I think we’re in a good spot right now. Excited and I’m ready to get this thing rolling.”
