Friday, the Cowboys added some power to their quarterbacks’ room by acquiring Trey Lance from the 49ers. Trey Lance, the 49ers’ No. 3 pick, was acquired by the Cowboys on Friday.

Will Grier, the former West Virginia quarterback will be let go by the Cowboys now that Lance has joined a quarterback group that includes Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush.

According to David Moore, Dallas Morning Newsthe Cowboys are releasing Grier following their preseason finale with the Raiders.

Grier will be allowed to play in the Cowboys’ preseason finale to show off his skills to rival teams.

Grier was successful in 13 of 18 pass attempts last week against the Seahawks, resulting in 136 yards and an interception. In the first preseason game, Grier had 199 yards passing, two touchdowns, and an interception.

Grier began his NFL career as a third-round draft pick with the Panthers. He was a struggling rookie in 2019. He completed only 53.8 percent passes and threw four interceptions.

Grier has a limited time to prove he is able to be a reliable backup in the NFL. Hope his next stop is the best one for him.
