Cowboys Coach Mike McCarthy Reacts To What He’s Seeing From Michael Gallup

The Dallas Cowboys have plenty of question marks on their roster, but their receiving corps isn’t one of them.

Dallas has arguably the best trio of wide receivers in the NFL with Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb. Gallup, although not the most well-known of the group is making a strong impression during training camp.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said that Gallup had made a significant step this offseason.

“Michael is playing all three receiver positions.” McCarthy said, via Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. It gives him more chances.”

Gallup will be on a new contract for the upcoming season. He addressed his contract situation during an appearance on NFL Network earlier this year.

“You will undoubtedly think about it. Gallup stated that you can’t do much about it except to go out on the field doing what you’re supposed. You won’t get the contract if your field work isn’t done right.

Gallup’s performance last year was a little impacted by Dak Prescott missing the majority of the season. The Cowboys hope that Gallup will return to his 2019 form, which saw him recieve 66 receptions for 1,107 yards with six touchdowns.
