Colin Cowherd Suggests Dallas Cowboys Trade 1 WR

The Cowboys are in first place in the NFC East but own a 2-4 record. Some believe the Cowboys are going to be sellers at the trade deadline, specifically FS1’s Colin Cowherd. That comes after the Arizona Cardinals defeated the Cowboys 38-10 on Monday Night Football.

When it came to the team’s trajectory, Cowherd sees the team “rebuilding.”

“It’s rebuild time,” Cowherd said during this Wednesday’s edition of The Herd. “Jerry, get off local radio. Call the Bears GM. Call the Ravens GM. Start it now. I don’t care if you can win the division.”

When it comes to specifics, Cowherd believes that Cowboys best move would be trading receiver Michael Gallup. Last season, Gallup had 66 receptions for 1,107 yards and six touchdowns. However, through Week 6, Gallup has just 19 catches for 371 yards and one touchdown.

In terms of leading contenders for Gallup, the Bears, Colts, Packers, and Ravens could all use another hand on offense. Cowherd believes that Gallup could bring back at least a second-round pick in return.

Gallup has one year left on his rookie contract. If the Cowboys shipped Gallup out, the team would have Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb. That would still be one of the best duos in the league, as Lamb is heavily a top contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

The offensive line is in bad shape, and a second-round pick would help shape that up. Head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that offensive lineman Brandon Knight suffered a knee injury during the game and it required surgery. According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, McCarthy said that Knight will be out a few weeks.

“Cowboys lose offensive left tackle Brandon Knight, who suffered a knee injury last night and has already had surgery, coach Mike McCarthy said. Knight replaced Tyron Smith, who is out for the season following neck surgery.”

Smith was lost for the season just a couple of weeks ago as Knight took his place. This is a devastating blow as Zack Martin was also lost on Monday to a concussion.

Along with Smith, La’el Collins is lost, while Travis Frederick retired before the season. This once stellar offensive line is looking very rugged.
