Just under a month after trading disgruntled wide receiver Stefon Diggs, the Vikings appear to be on the cusp of trading another fan favorite in Anthony Harris.
The Vikings placed the franchise tag on Harris, but the belief is that the team is going to flip him according to NFL Insider Josina Anderson.
“Source: I’m told t/ #Vikings & S Anthony Harris r expected to resume discussions on his status & long-term deal. There were talks towards the end of Mar. I’m told a deal is in the/ “realm” of what’s necessary to finalize but Harris knows other factors could still impact his future in Min.”
It appears that the Vikings are reluctant to give Harris a long term deal. If the team is looking to make a trade, the Philadelphia Eagles make sense.
Jeffery wants out of Philly. According to a Twitter profile, named Die Hard Eagles Fans, the former Pro Bowl wideout has wiped out all affiliations with the Eagles franchise.
“Alshon Jeffery has taken away all of his affiliation with the #Eagles on his twitter account. This might be old news, but he also deleted his Instagram. Looks like he knows something we don’t.”
To add to that, Jeffery’s Instagram account has been deleted, while his Twitter has no mention of being associated with the Eagles. It appears that his time with the franchise is over.
The Vikings need to replace the whole that was created when the Vikings shipped Diggs to the Bills. The Vikings could do just that by providing Aaron Thielen some relief by shopping for Jeffrey.
In the end, if the team made a straight up trade, the Eagles would come out on top. Jeffery is under contract for two seasons and has a dead cap hit of $26.1 million in 2020 and $10.57 million in 2021. The Eagles could add a 2021 sixth or seventh round pick to sweeten the deal.
