RUMOR: Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster hints on potential interest in joining Cowboys

With Ben Roethlisberger’s departure, wide receiver JuJuSmith-Schuster may be considering leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers to join another team in free agency.

After signing a one year contract with the Steelers in March 2021, the USC wideout has an expiring contract. He seemed to hint at his free agency plans after speaking to the media after shooting a commercial at the Dallas Cowboys facility. There, he was also able to catch some passes from Dak Prescott. The Steelers’ second-round draft pick in 2017 gave reporters some food for thought when he was asked about signing with the Cowboys.

“He’s a great quarterback,” Smith-Schuster said. “Catching balls from him in a facility like this, I wouldn’t mind it. He has some good guys around him, a great team, a great organization. So you never know.”

Smith-Schuster was limited to five games in 2021 NFL regular season due to a shoulder injury. However, Smith-Schuster was able to return to play in the playoffs but only for one game as the Steelers lost to Kansas City Chiefs during the Wild Card round.

In 2021, the Cowboys were a highly-powered offense. They scored 30.4 points per match in the regular season. They could lose some of their downfield tools soon, as Cedrick Wilson or Michael Gallup are free agents.
