Rival All-Pro Star Welcomes Trade to Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys linked to theĀ  disgruntled San Francisco 49ers player.

However, the receiver was a key in the rumors. Samuel tweeted that he wanted a trade shortly after the reports emerged. The tweet featured Samuel in a Cowboys uniform with CeeDee Lamb.

“Man, you look amazing in blue and silver with your star helmet!” In the like tweet tagging Samuel, Twitter user @Shane_2104 wrote: @19promblemz

Samuel did not like the tweet but Dallas would be open to a trade. ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that the wideout had “asked the 49ers for him to be traded.”

Darlington tweeted, “Breaking News”: Darlington said that Deebo Samuel, wide receiver, told him that he had asked the 49ers for Deebo Samuel’s trade. Although he did not wish to reveal the reasons behind his request specifically, he has let the 49ers know that he wants to leave the team. We will have more to share.”

This is the tweet that got Cowboys fans buzzing.

NFL Network’s Ian rapoport reports that Samuel is not only looking for a new contract, but also frustrated at his use with the Niners. Rapoport stated that Samuel’s request for a trade was made “more than one week ago.”

Rapoport stated in a series 20 April tweets that “the trade request came in over a week ago and the 49ers had been aware of Deeboā€™s feelings for some time.” “This is the reason there have not been any talks. Although the 49ers were open to making offers to WR Deebo Sam, he has been reluctant to accept. This is the reason. It is unclear where this will lead. Samuel’s desire to leave is the latest drama in big-name WR drama. Deebo Samuel isn’t a problem because of money. But, if it were, that could be solved with a large offer. There are also problems with his use.”

Samuel broke his silence over the trade request, only to delete the Tweet.

Samuel stated in the now-defunct tweet that “Reporters job is to make stories only people understand the truth about the Situation is 49ers @ToryDandy [agent]”
Samuel was a top NFL receiver last season, with 77 receptions for 1,405 yards. He also scored six touchdowns in 16 games which earned him an All-Pro nomination. Samuel’s running game usage is a point of contention. The playmaker had 59 carries for 325 yards and eight touchdowns.

It is not the first time that a star player expressed an interest in Dallas. Samuel rumors are interesting, given that the Cowboys have a receiver position of Amari Cooper size. But, could the Cowboys trade substantial draft capital for Samuel and give the receiver an attractive long-term extension to their contract?

Samuel will be entering the last season of his four year, $7.2million rookie contract and will receive a $3.9million salary in 2022. Cowboys insist that Cooper’s trade was not about Cooper living up to his contract, but rather his annual salary of $20 million. Despite the fact that star receivers are now making $30 million per annum, Dallas has little chance of trading Samuel for his salary.
