New Injury Update For Chiefs Wide Receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster

JuJu Smith-Schuster made a positive step towards getting the 2022 season started on track.

Before Thursday’s final preseason match against the Green Bay Packers, the new Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver was seen catching passes from Patrick Mahomes at Arrowhead Stadium.

Smith-Schuster has been out of practice since a knee injury, and will not be playing Thursday. It’s a good sign that he is on the road to recovery.

Andy Reid , the head coach, told reporters Tuesday Smith-Schuster had “turned the corner”, and should be “fine.”

Smith-Schuster was limited to five games last year due to shoulder and rib injuries. Smith-Schuster was once a top-ranked wideout in the league, with 1,426 receiving yards and 111 catches in 2018. However, he only managed 129 receiving yards his fifth season with Pittsburgh Steelers.

Smith-Schuster has signed a one year deal with Kansas City. He will be able to fill the Tyreek Hill void. This 25-year old will have the chance to revive his career with Mahomes in one league’s most dynamic offenses.

JuJu appears poised to be available for Kansas City’s Week 1 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals on September 11.
