Mike McCarthy Had Special Gift For His Players This Week

Mike McCarthy is a master of his art.

McCarthy invited his Cowboys team to smash watermelon Gallagher-style last season.

The Dallas head coach changed it this year. According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, McCarthy fired up his team by giving out monkey butt this week.

Pelissero claims McCarthy and his staff called the seven days that followed “R-AWW,” which stands for “Red Ass Week”.

After a disappointing loss to the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl, the winning coach wanted his team mad and to take it to heart.

The Dallas Cowboys staff even gave him Monkey Butt as an anti-chafing powder. This was something that the players apparently loved.

It had to have worked.

Dallas won 43-3 over the Atlanta Falcons. McCarthy and his team were reaffirmed as Super Bowl contenders with the 40-point win.

Dan Quinn, Cowboys’ D-coordinator and was fired by Falcons after a 0-5 start to the season.

After the game, Quinn was presented with the gameball.

In a 4:25 match against the Chiefs at Arrowhead, Sunday’s 7-2 Cowboys will try to keep the momentum going.

Mike McCarthy, Dan Quinn and the rest will need to repeat their performance to stop a Kansas City Chiefs offense from returning to its former glory.
