Las Vegas Raiders Release Two Veteran Players

The Las Vegas Raiders made some important roster decisions Tuesday. Two veterans were released.

The Raiders have announced that Vernon Butler, a defensive tackle, and Demarcus Robinson, a wide receiver, were released Tuesday.

The AFC West franchise released Vernon Butler and Demarcus Roberts. It also waived Nate Brooks and Gerri Green, and Tyrone Wheatley Jr.

“The Las Vegas Raiders have made the following roster moves, the club announced Tuesday. The transactions bring the Raiders to the NFL-mandated 85-player limit on their active roster,” the team announced.

These roster changes were made by the Raiders to reduce their roster to 85 players. Every NFL team must do this by Tuesday.

The Raiders are now free to focus on the preseason with these roster decisions made. This Saturday, Las Vegas hosts the Miami Dolphins in the second of its three preseason games. The Raiders will then finish the preseason against the Patriots on Aug. 26.
