Jerry Jones Identifies 1 Potential Future Cowboys Coach

Mike McCarthy will be the Dallas Cowboys’ head coach in 2022. Jerry Jones confirmed that McCarthy will be returning to the team for another season.

But there’s another coach on staff who Jones would be comfortable handing the reins to at some point in the future.

Jerry Jones acknowledged to USA TODAY that Dan Quinn, Cowboys defensive coordinator, could be a future Dallas head coach.

Jones stated Wednesday, “He’s definitely qualified.” He’s highly qualified. Yes, I would. Yes, I would consider.

Quinn’s decision to return to Cowboys for a second season surprised many.

This year, he was interviewed by several head coaches for the position of defensive coordinator. He decided to return for a second season in Dallas.

After a loss to the 49ers in Wild Card, the Cowboys are now coming off a win.
