Dallas Cowboys select Tight End in fourth round of 2022 NFL Draft

The Dallas Cowboys selected Jake Ferguson from Wisconsin as the 129th overall pick in the fourth round 2022 NFL Draft. The Cowboys also selected Sam Williams, Tyler Smith and Jalen Tolbert in the draft’s initial two days.

The Cowboys need help at the offensive tackle and guard spots. They lost Connor Williams during free agency to the Dolphins. Collins was the starting right tackle last season. After being the starter since 2015, La’el Collins was released to become the starting right tackle.

In a trade with the Cleveland Browns, Amari cooper was traded to them. This has created a playmaking gap wide along with budding star Ceedee lamb. It is a huge task to ask a young receiver for the responsibility of carrying the entire receivers room. McCarthy and Company will be looking for more than one fast, sure-handed receiver/ tight end over the course of the NFL Draft.

Head coach Mike McCarthy is now faced with the challenge of finding new players for his offensive and defensive lines after Randy Gregory abruptly left.

Dallas devoted 2021 to its defense unit and selected Micah Parsons as the first round draft pick. Parsons won the NFL Defensive Rookie Of The Year award in 2022, made the Pro Bowl, and was the leader of the team’s tackles for loss (20), sacks (13) and quarterback hits (30).

This will be the Cowboys’ first selection. They will also be on the clock for the final three rounds. Dallas will select the 155th overall pick from the Browns/Cooper trade in the fifth round.

With the No. 155 (from CLE), 167 and 176, respectively.
