Dallas Cowboys move key defensive back to COVID-19 list

When the Dallas Cowboys host the Washington Football Team, they will be without a key member its secondary.

Jourdan Lewis has been added to the COVID-19 List. The Michigan native has appeared in 14 games with 11 starts this season. Lewis, a cornerback, has 53 total tackles with 1.5 sacks. He also intercepted three passes. Lewis is second only to Trevon Diggs in terms of helping Dallas’ defense become one of the best in the country.

The NFL has also been affected by the rise in COVID-19-related cases. DeMarcus Lawrence (defensive end), Tony Pollard (running back) and Corey Clement (running back) were all absent earlier this week.

Dallas was able to secure a playoff spot on Thursday night thanks to the 49ers’ defeat against the Tennessee Titans. The Cowboys last made it to the playoff in 2018

Washington enters Week 16 with an overall record of 6-8

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs has an intercept goal for the last three games of the season. Diggs securing his 10th interception in Week 15 helped him get closer to the league record of 14.

The second-year professional revealed his number in an interview on Thursday.

joked that he could get another 10 in the last 3 games. “I don’t know. “I’m going to just go out there and try my best and see what comes up.”

Diggs is the NFL’s top corner, and he has impressed with his impressive numbers. Diggs’ 10 picks are three more that second-place J.C. Jackson from New England. Diggs is second in the NFL for passes defended with 19.

Diggs, a second-round selection from Alabama in 2020 has shown great improvement in his second season. Diggs started in every game except one, recording three interceptions as well as 14 passes defensed. He equaled his interception total from last year by Week 3, with a pick in each one of his three first games.

Diggs had seven interceptions in his six first 2021 games. Recent weeks have seen a decrease in production, probably due to opposing quarterbacks avoiding throwing his way.

His outstanding play has earned him his first Pro Bowl selection. There is potential for many more. It seems that he will be an All-Pro at the conclusion of this season.
