Over the past two days, sports talk has been dominated by the Dallas Cowboys’ humiliating loss to the San Francisco 49ers and the struggles of quarterback Dak Prescott.

Fans and pundits wonder if Prescott can ever win a Super Bowl for Dallas. Owner Jerry Jones is double down the idea that he could.

Prescott has one more year left on his four-year contract worth $160 million that he signed in 2021. It seems he will be playing out the rest of the deal with the Cowboys.

ESPN’s Matt Miller pointed out that Prescott’s departure after this season would be financially unsustainable.

“Dak Prescott would count $62 million against the cap if he’s released or traded,” Miller tweeted Tuesday. “Very hard to see him going anywhere else next year. Or to see Dallas adding competition that isn’t on the roster already.”
