Cowboys rookie CeeDee Lamb highlights major goal for 2020 season

CeeDee Lamb has a lofty goal for 2020 season

Amari Cooper believes that CeeDee Lamb can get 1,000 yards this season. Lamb has even loftier goals.

When speaking to SiriusXM NFL Radio, Lamb said that his goal this year is to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

With quarterback Dak Prescott throwing the ball, there’s a chance Lamb will have several opportunities to make big plays. Prescott threw for over 4,900 yards last year after finishing second in the league.

In college football, Lamb was one of the most productive receivers over the last three years. Altogether, he caught 173 passes for 3,292 yards and 14 touchdowns. In 2019, Lamb caught 62 passes for 1,327 yards and all 14 touchdowns.

After the Cowboys used their first-round pick on Lamb, the team is hopeful that Lamb will take attention off Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup.

When it comes to how the Cowboys will use Lamb in their offense, one former NFL quarterback believes the Cowboys should use Lamb early and often.

David Carr spoke to NFL All-Access and broke down how he believes offensive coordinator Kellen Moore should use Lamb.

“Get the ball to CeeDee Lamb as much as you can early,” Carr told the show, via 247Sports. “It’s really difficult for young receivers to transition to the NFL when you ask them to read a lot down the field and change their routes based on coverage. But you can find ways to get CeeDee Lamb the football. What he was great at in college, just get it to him at the line of scrimmage, get it to him in the quick passing game.”

If the Cowboys follow that game plan, it could be a successful year for the team’s rookie.
