Cowboys Reportedly Release Veteran Tight End With Injury Settlement

The Dallas Cowboys are getting closer to making their final roster cuts prior to the 2022 regular season. These roster cuts have resulted in the end of one player’s Dallas tenure. The Cowboys released Jeremy Sprinkle, a veteran tight end, with an injury settlement.

After signing with them in March, Sprinkle was about to enter his second season with the Cowboys. The Cowboys placed Sprinkle on injured reserve this week.

He only managed three receptions for 31 yards and two special-teams tackles during his time in Dallas. He may still be able to make the NFL, if he can get better.

Jeremy Sprinkle, a fifth-round selection from Arkansas, was selected by Washington in the 2017 NFL Draft. Although he saw very few targets in his first two years, he had a breakout year in 2019.

Sprinkle was a starter in 13 of 16 games and had 26 receptions for 241 yard and one touchdown. Sprinkle played about two-thirds the offensive snaps for the team that season.

Sprinkle was a Washington native who had 34 receptions for 331 yards and three touchdowns in four years. Sprinkle also played 59 games and started 33.
