Cowboys Hosted Former First-Round Pass Rusher For Workout

The Dallas Cowboys hosted practice on Saturday and also brought Takk McKinley, a pass rusher, to the team for a workout.

McKinley was a 2021 Cleveland Browns player. McKinley had 18 tackles, 2.5sacks, and a forced touchdown.

McKinley’s last season was cut short by a torn Achilles. It was reported that McKinley was doing well and was expected to return in the next few weeks.

McKinley will be reunited with Dan Quinn, the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator, if he ends up playing for them.

Quinn was the Atlanta Falcons’ head coach when McKinley was selected in the first round 2017 NFL Draft.

McKinley was a Quinn’s player and had 79 tackles, 45 touchdown passes, and 17.5 sacks.

McKinley has been a target of interest by more than just the Cowboys this summer. The Browns are interested in resigning McKinley.

McKinley has not been able to return to his 2018 form. However, Quinn and McKinley could help him to get back on track.

McKinley was 26th overall five year ago to the Atlanta Falcons. This was one behind the Cowboys No. 27 pick. Although Dallas missed him in 2017, it seems that they will not let McKinley go this time.

Takkarist didn’t play in the last season. His last team was Cleveland Browns. He played 11 games in the 2021 season.
