Cowboys Have Claimed Former Green Bay Packers WR

What is one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Of course, no NFL player is considered actual trash, but when it comes to trimming rosters down to 53 players, some may feel that way after losing their job. However, Malik Turner is going to try and shine as he was picked up by the Dallas Cowboys.

According to Dallas Morning News writer Michael Gehlken, the team added Turner to the squad. The former Green Bay Packer and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver were claimed off waivers.

The former Illinois standout was released after signing with the team in August.

Over the last two years, Turner appeared in 21 games for Seattle. In 2019, Turner played in 15 regular-season games, made three starts, and caught 15 passes for 245 yards.

The Cowboys announced their 53-man roster, which includes six wide receivers. Making the roster was Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, CeeDee Lamb, Noah Brown, Cedrick Wilson, and Turner.

Ventell Bryant is currently on the short-term IR and is working his way back from a knee injury. For now, Turner will battle Brown and Wilson for playing time.

The Cowboys open their season next Sunday in L.A. against the Rams.
