Chiefs coach Andy Reid drops truth bomb on Patrick Mahomes-JuJu Smith-Schuster connection

With the departure of Tyreek Hills, the Kansas City Chiefs will see a significant drop in wide receivers. This is a challenge for both Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback, and the wideout to limit any dips and make it look like Cheetah never left.

Former Steelers standout JuJuSmith-Schuster signed a one year deal for just over $3million with an impressive incentive package that more than tripled his base salary. This is a promising addition and could be a boon to the Chiefs. Kansas City hopes that he will trigger those incentives and become the top threat to their receiving corps.

Andy Reid, Chiefs coach, clearly sees his chemistry with Mahomes. He speaks out about the “trust” that he is seeing between them as they begin to train camp.

“There’s a trust there. This isn’t JuJu’s first rodeo…He’s back, healthy and got some good work in today.” – Coach Reid on the connection between Patrick Mahomes and JuJu Smith-Schuster, which was working well today throughout practice

JuJu Smith Schuster’s talent is unquestionable. He was a true star for the Steelers his first two seasons. With 1,426 yards receiving and 111 receptions, he was a true star. His last three seasons saw him decline due to a variety of factors, with injuries leading the charge.
