3 teams who could steal free agent Michael Gallup from the Cowboys

In Week 13, the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup gave a stunning performance against the New Orleans Saints. In a sloppy offensive performance Gallup scored a stunning touchdown in the endzone and made many crucial catches to help Cowboys win 27-17.

The wide receiver is an integral part of the three-headed monster trio Amari Cooper, CeeDee lamb, and himself. Gallup will be entering free agency in March. The Cowboys currently rank third in salary cap space available as of writing. This may make it time to be concerned that other league contenders could make big money in order to acquire this receiver.

We’d love to say that the Saints need Gallup after the Week 13 Thursday night football matchup. But, since they are “sitting pretty” at the bottom of the salary cap positioning, it isn’t too concerning. Converting aging money into roster bonuses is not enough.

It is certain that the Cowboys receiver will be in the middle of a bidding war. The Cowboys should be concerned about who? There are many NFL teams that need strong wide receivers and are willing and able to pay a lot to acquire one.

Three teams that the Cowboys should be concerned about when Michael Gallup is free to choose their team

3. New England Patriots

With an 8-4 record, the New England Patriots sit at the top AFC East. They are ready to return to the dominance they have been enjoying with Mac Jones as their new quarterback. The Pats would have a formidable weapon in adding a wide receiver like Gallup to their team with Jones as their quarterback.

Their starting receivers are currently Jakobi Meyers and Nelson Agholor. None of these players are creating much excitement or buzz. Although the Pats have some strong tight ends, they lack a player with the ability to provide downfield coverage and catch touchdowns in traffic like Gallup. This was the Idea for N’Keal Harry. However, it has not come to fruition.

Jones will also be able to play downfield more freely as he develops and becomes his own man. Josh McDaniels and Bill Belichick are likely to help him. Jones would be able to trust Gallup if he was waiting for his deep pass.

The Patriots have more than $30 million in cap space for 2022, which could be a good spot for a Gallup signing.

2. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts rank second in the AFC South. They have more than $57 million available to them in their salary cap for next season. T.Y. T.Y. Hilton will be a free agent in 2022, so it makes sense that they don’t resign the 32-year old, often-injured player and instead replace him with a 25 year-old who is winning every game. Parris Campbell has been hurt yet again andcontinues to be plagued with injury.

1. Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders might be able to make this wager in the city of roulette and slot machines. Raiders are able to spend money and love to gamble, just like those who travel from all corners of the globe to play at their blackjack tables.

The Raiders could benefit from a boost at their wide receiver position, despite all the gambling jokes. The sudden and permanent departure from Henry Ruggs III was a blow to their receiver position. Hunter Renfrow is their only real weapon. Renfrow is enjoying one of his best years as an amateur, but he cannot do it alone. He can’t even do it all from the slot.

Derek Carr has proven that he is an elite quarterback at times. The Raiders should add Gallup to their roster to help Carr avoid being thrown to the ground and scrambling.

The Raiders have always tried to patch the wide receiver position. Short-term deals will be made to DeSean Jackson, who is either too old or not the right fit. Gallup is the perfect choice if they are looking for a long-term and stable option for downfield receivers.
