2 Cowboys Stars Limited At Practice Wednesday

After a 56-14 win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday night, the Dallas Cowboys enter Week 17.

Despite their sensational win that also secured the NFC East title, the Cowboys enter this week with some banged-up stars.

According Jon Machota of The Athletic, Dallas has listed two of its top players in the first injury report for Week 17. Practice was limited for left tackle Tyron S. Smith (ankle), and defensive end DeMarcus L. Lawrence (foot).

Smith missed the previous two games due to a nagging ankle injury. However, Smith is on track to return in Week 17. Even though Smith was limited in practice Wednesday, Jerry Jones, Cowboys owner, said recently that Smith will be back for Sunday’s game.

Jones, via Machota, stated that “It would surprise” if he wasn’t there this week on 105.3 The Fan.

Lawrence’s current status is probably precautionary as he fractured one of his feet earlier in the season. In Week 13, he returned to Dallas and played in all four Cowboys’ games. Lawrence was the play of the evening in Dallas’ win over Washington. He caught a Taylor Heinicke pass and ran 40 yards to the endzone for a touchdown.

Overall, the Cowboys look healthy ahead of this weekend’s matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Dallas would be a strong contender in the NFC West, and a win against them would cement their status as one of the top teams in the NFL right before the playoffs begin.

Cowboys-Cardinals will kick off at 4:25 pm. ET on Sunday
