Video: Jaylon Smith participates in Dallas Cowboys victory formation

The NFC East is heating up with the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys facing off on Sunday afternoon. Dallas won 21-6 despite a disappointing offensive performance by both teams.

The entire Cowboys offense performs the Landry Shift before every snap, whenever they have to kneel or run out of time. It is a tribute for Tom Landry, the legendary head coach of the Cowboys. He won two Super Bowls while with them.

It wasn’t just Dallas players who participated on Sunday.

Jaylon Smith, Giants linebacker, was seen taking part in the tradition, even though he was on the losing side. As if enthused, he also threw a larger fist bump. You can see the entire sequence .

Jaylon Smith can be taken out of the Dallas Cowboys, but Jaylon Smith can’t be taken out of the Dallas Cowboys.

Smith was signed to the Giants practice squad because of COVID-19 issues on the defensive side. On Saturday , he was activated and participated in Sunday’s game against his old team.

Smith had three total tackles. Two of them were solo. After the game, the linebacker was seen taking a photo of Dallas quarterback Dak Preston and running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Smith played in every Dallas game between 2018-20, and was a Pro Bowl selection in 2019. Smith, 26, was not able to make it onto the depth chart for 2021 and only started two of six Cowboys games. Smith’s time in Dallas was cut short by Micah Parsons, or even less.

Smith was temporarily with the Green Bay Packers during the season, and he played in two games. Smith was released by the Packers on November 2. Smith only recorded one tackle.
