Steelers Have Reportedly Already Decided On Starting Quarterback

Although Mike Tomlin has not yet officially announced the news, it seems like the Pittsburgh Steelers already know their starting quarterback.

Jay Glazer from Fox Sports says there is no quarterback battle in Pittsburgh. He believes that Mitch Trubisky will be the starter for this season, even though Kenny Pickett is a favorite.

“It’s kind of interesting that people still think there might be a quarterback controversy here. There’s not. Mitch Trubisky, that’s the guy. He’ll be the starter here,” Glazer said.

Most Steelers fans will be surprised to hear this, as Tomlin stated last week that Trubisky would have been the starting if the season started at that time.

Trubisky was given the start in Saturday’s Steelers’ preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. He played well. He was four-for-seven, with 63 yards passing.

Pickett will still be there, even if Trubisky starts this season. Since Trubisky was drafted, Pittsburgh has been helping him to settle in so that he can develop the right way.

Both quarterbacks are likely to play in Saturday’s Steelers preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
