Patrick Mahomes Once Made Up His Mind to Quit Football but His Mother Came to the Rescue: “You’re Going to Regret”

Patrick Mahomes would be regarded by NFL fans as one of the most sought-after commodities in the NFL. He achieved the success that one could hope for in just a few seasons. The QB almost gave up on football once. Randi Mahomes, his mother, saved the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chiefs Kingdom should be grateful to Randi, the wife of former MLB Pitcher Patrick Mahomes Sr. for keeping junior Patrick in football. Mother Mahomes, in an interview with Kathy Quinn on FOX4, explains how football wasn’t the Grim Reaper’s priority. Mahomes was skeptical about the sport but Mother Mahomes convinced him to stay on the football field.

Randi mentioned, “Before his junior year in high school he came to me that summer wanting to quit football, but I just said, ‘you’re going to regret it if you quit.’”

Goalcast states that Patrick Jr. was an introverted child in his youth. He didn’t like to travel or visit places such as Disney World or Yankee Stadium. Athletics was his passion and he would dedicate every ounce of himself to it.

Randi Mahomes would have been unable to see Patrick Mahomes on an NFL team calling plays without her. She is the only family that the QB had in Texas to cheer him on and help him choose football as a career. She is also the one Chiefs supporters should look up to for Patrick’s decision to wear the red-and-gold jersey.

Randi persuaded her son to continue playing football. Patrick Mahomes Sr., however, had other ideas and begged him not to. Instead, you should aim to be a professional pitchman in the NBA or MLB. Father Mahomes reflected on his son’s second visit to Texas Longhorns during an appearance with TMZ Sports.

Pat Mahomes Sr. mentioned, “I remember coming home from a recruit visit with Texas and they were recruiting as a safety. I was telling him, ‘Why don’t we just quit this and let’s just concentrate on the other two?’ I said we’re just wasting the time with this football thing. He said, ‘Dad I want to be out there with my teammates. I want to be out there with the guys I’ve been playing with forever and I couldn’t see myself in the stands watching them.’ Luckily he didn’t listen to me.”

Senior Mahomes’ worries have all vanished, and Patrick Jr. continues his prodigious journey as the Chiefs’ prodigy.
