AFC team asked permission to interview Cowboys coordinators Kellen Moor and Dan Quinn for HC Opportunity
Multiple reports claim that Jacksonville has asked permission to interview Dan Quinn and Kellen Moore, Dallas’ offensive coordinator.
Moore started his tenure as Cowboys’ quarterbacks coaches in 2018 after he had finished his playing career. Moore was promoted to the role of offensive coordinator under Jason Garrett in 2019, and continued in that position under Mike McCarthy in 2020. The Cowboys currently rank No. 2, in total offense as well as in scoring.
As the Falcons’ head coach, Quinn had a record of 43-42 from 2015 to 2020. His contributions have been significant in improving Dallas’ defense, currently ranked No. 7 in points allowed, and No. 19 yards allowed, first with 33 takeaways.
According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero two more candidates are on the Jaguars’ radar: former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, and Colts defensive chief Matt Eberflus. Pelissero says Jacksonville will interview Pederson this week.

The Jaguars have now concluded the Urban Meyer experiment in Jacksonville and are looking for a new head coach.
Kellen Moore has led the Cowboys’ offense to a No. 1 ranking this season, averaging a league high 409.5 yards per game and 30.5 points per match. His offensive unit scored a record 56 points against the Washington Football Team on Sunday night.
Some newly-changed NFL rules allow teams to conduct interviews with head coach and general managers during the final two weeks. This gives the Cowboys’ coordinators an opportunity to think about the possibility before considering a postseason run.
