Dez Bryant blasts Dallas Cowboys for Andy Dalton deal

Not everybody is happy about the signing of Andy Dalton.

After Jameis Winston joined the New Orleans Saints this past week, there were two veteran quarterbacks left on the market. That included former No. 1 overall pick Cam Newton, and longtime Cincinnati Bengal Andy Dalton.

When Dalton was released from the Bengals after a nine-year run with the team, the dots connected that he would fall into the laps of the New England Patriots.

However, Dalton got the call from the Dallas Cowboys and the former TCU quarterback is going to backup Dak Prescott in the Big D according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“Former Bengals’ QB Andy Dalton is signing a one-year deal worth up to $7 million that includes $3 million guaranteed with the Dallas Cowboys, source tells ESPN.”

Former wide receiver Dez Bryant took to Twitter to completely disagree with the decision.

“Nothing against Andy dalton because I think he’s a great player..but the cowboys are extremely out of line… Pay Dak… I watched the cowboys pay Tony Twice once without a winning rec… I guess the cowboys viewing the QB position a plug in piece because of the dominant offense.”

According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Dalton’s signing doesn’t mean much for Dak Prescott, and his addition is just as an insurance policy. Bryant doesn’t think that is the case.

“I was told a lot of things before and things ended up False… Dalton has been a starter damn near his whole career..: “

Dalton is a three-time Pro Bowler that threw for a career-high 33 touchdown passes in 2013. If quarterback Dak Prescott were to miss any time, the team would be in good hands. The Cowboys originally had Cooper Rush as the team’s backup, but now the team can feel confident all throughout the season.
