Chiefs Reportedly Cut Special Teams Ace On Tuesday

According to reports, Zayne Anderson, a Kansas City Chiefs “special teams ace”, will be released by the team before Tuesday’s 53-man roster deadline.

Anderson was undrafted in 2021 and was signed as an agent free of charge. He played a lot as a special team member for the Chiefs.

Anderson, 25, was a BYU Cougars football player for six seasons (2015-202020). He was a defensive back/linebacker and he recorded 105 tackles.

Anderson was released prior to last year’s final cuts but ended up being back on the Chiefs practice roster. In December 2021, Anderson was promoted to the active roster.

He may be able to make his way back on the active roster in 2022.
